After giving voice on The Great Gatsby in 2013 with “Young and Beautiful“ and on Maleficent earlier this year with a perfect rendition of Disney classic “Once Upon a Dream“, according to several sources, Lana Del Rey is confirmed as the responsible for singing the main theme of the upcoming biographical film “Big Eyes“, directed by Tim Burton focusing on American artist Margaret Keane.
The song titled as the film “Big Eyes“, was written by Lana and it’s scheduled to premiere on December 25, 2014. The movie opens in theaters on the same day, by The Weinstein Company.
Update: Lana Del Rey reportedly has two and not one track in Tim Burton’s movie and they are “I Can Fly” and “Big Eyes”. “I Can Fly” was written by Lana along with Rick Nowels (West Coast co-writer/producer), which plays over the movie end credits, and “Big Eyes”, which receives a prominent mid-film spot.
The movie’s producer Larry Karaszewski told the Reporter:
“Tim showed her the film and she fell in love with it…Women in particular seem to get the movie, and Lana really got the movie. The whole thing is about a woman who can’t find her voice…Lana’s song expresses what Margaret is feeling so perfectly, it’s like a soliloquy of her inner thoughts.”
