On May 24, 2014, Kanye West and Kim Kardashian got married at the Forte di Belvedere in Florence, Italy. And, the night before, May 23, they had a rehearsal and party at the Palace of Versailles’ Hall of Mirrors where Lana Del Rey performed.

As a surprise to Kim Kardashian, Kanye West, called Lana to sing Kim’s favorite song “Young and Beautiful”, “Summertime Sadness”, plus another love song, at the couple’s pre-wedding bash. And according to the Daily Mail, the performance was so romantic that “everyone was crying”!

“Young and Beautiful” has been Kim and Kanye’s song ever since it was played during their romantic San Francisco engagement on October 21, 2013 so Kanye planned to have Lana sing it live at their wedding.

Kim also tweeted about the song that she loves so much:

Lana Del Rey has revealed the video for her single West Coast, the first to be released from her much-anticipated upcoming album Ultraviolence.  The video is directed by Vince Heycock, produced by Geoff McLean, with production by Vision Films.

Written by Lana and the legendary writer Rick Nowels West Coast was recorded in Nashville and produced by Dan Auerbach from The Black Keys.

Commenting on West Coast and Ultraviolence Lana explains “The record is finished and it’s beautiful – it’s so wrong and exquisite. It is absolutely gorgeous – darker than the first.

“WEST COAST” is being released on Polydor Records and will be available on digital download on Sunday 18th May.

Lana Del Rey revealed the cover of her upcoming new single “West Coast” this Thursday, April 10, 2014.

Dan Auerbach of The Black Keys talked about the upcoming new album of Lana Del Rey, ‘Ultraviolence’ for BBC:

“It’s a monster. It’s a sonic monster. It’s beautiful. I can’t wait for people to hear it. (…)

[Is it that sort of similar kind of widescreen cinematic feel to it?] It does, but even more so, you know I think a lot of her first record was just kind of, you know, was in the box, recorded, but this is a 7-piece band with her singing live in the studioo so there’s some kind of, uh, really magic, magical moments that we got to capture on tape, and, uh, you know, the kind of thing that you just can’t duplicate with, uh, Pro Tools kind of recording, you know what I mean? It’s a different thing for her even though her personality is still definitely there and shines through.”
