Listen to Miles Kane’s new single ‘Loaded’, co-written by Lana Del Rey

Miles Kane recently spoke about how Lana Del Rey would feature on his upcoming album, ‘Coup de Grace which is due in the summer. In another interview with BBC Radio 1, on April 16, Annie Mac played the track in question, titled ‘Loaded’. Lana doesn’t sing on the track, but Miles explains that she co-wrote the song along with himself and Jamie T.

“Last January, Jamie T was in LA doing a little gig and we’d planned to some writing together that we’d been saying we’d do for 10 years. As I walk in [to the gig], Lana Del Rey was there.”

Miles says he’d just gone through a rough break-up. “She was like, ‘What’s up with you? Girl trouble?’ I go, ‘yeah can you tell?’”

“So the next day me and Jamie started writing ‘Loaded’ […] We started writing that tune and she facetimed us and she was like ‘What are you up to? Can I come over?’ So we we’re like ‘this is mental.’”

“She came over and we finished writing loaded that afternoon. There’s a lot of tunes that were written around that time, but this one’s stuck around.”

BØRNS on working with Lana Del Rey: “I’ve always admired her songwriting”

L’Officiel USA – a magazine Lana Del Rey appeared on the cover of in February – recently interviewed BØRNS about his new album ‘Blue Madonna’. The album features two tracks with Lana.

Interviewer Erica Russell took the opportunity to ask BØRNS what it was like working with Lana! He also joined her LA to the Moon tour as the support act for a couple of shows. Read below to find out what he said!

What was it like working with Lana Del Rey?
I was really excited to get into the studio with her. I’ve always admired her songwriting. I feel like she’s one artist that can make an entire body of work and it’s just her own universe, from start to finish. You can tell every single atom of it is her idea, her thoughts, her voice, her sensuality. It was great to be in the studio to see how she works and get her feedback on some of my songs. I hadn’t put anything out at that point and I was able to show her some tracks, which was awesome.

She seems like a loving, creative soul.
She’s a really incredible writer and very, very down to earth and sweet. I always want collaborations to happen organically and naturally. Honestly, it was just us texting each other for months, being like, “Hey, are you in town? We’re finally in town together? Let’s get in the studio!” I only wanted it to happen when it was supposed to happen, and it did.
