As most of you know by now, Lana Del Rey featured on a song on Abel Tesfaye, better known as The Weeknd’s, new album ‘Beauty Behind the Madness.’ Abel recently spoke to Pitchfork about his new album and about working with Lana. He reveals that she was definitely the first feature he wanted to bring to the album.
Pitchfork: What character did Lana Del Rey play on the album?
AT: Me and Lana have been friends for a long time. I’ve inspired her, she’s inspired me. I feel like we’ve always been talking to each other through our music. She is the girl in my music, and I am the guy in her music. It’s just this ghostly collaboration that feels the most natural on the whole album. Even the whole monologue intro on “Lonely Star” from Thursday—I just realized now that that’s Lana. That’s Lana’s voice. [laughs] I mean, it’s my voice pitched up, but it’s her, it’s who she is. She was definitely the first feature that I wanted to bring on this album.Click here to read the full interview.

The Weeknd’s new album ‘Beauty Behind the Madness‘ was released today (August 28) which means his song ‘Prisoner’ featuring Lana Del Rey is now available to hear.
Lana Del Rey has recently appeared on the cover of two Russian magazines. The first is Ваш (Your Leisure) which came out on August 26 and the second is the September issue of Oops!

In April, Mark Ronson revealed that he was doing some recording in a studio with Lana Del Rey. This lead everyone to presuming that he would be producing and/or featuring on ‘Honeymoon.’
However, Mark confirmed at V Festival that nothing they recorded back then stuck and he is not working on ‘Honeymoon.’
“I hate to crap all over your excitement, but we just worked a couple [of] days together and I think she’s amazing, but we didn’t actually end up doing anything for her album,”
“I said it and I shouldn’t have opened my big mouth, but I love that track ‘Honeymoon’ and the stuff I’ve heard from the record is great.”
