Brian Wilson, co-founder of The Beach Boys, has his 11th solo album ‘No Pier Pressure’ coming out on April 7. The album is set to feature many guest artists including Zooey Deschanel, M. Ward, Kacey Musgraves and other members of the Beach Boys. However, Frank Ocean and Lana Del Rey were also supposed to contribute but they no longer have songs on the record.
In a recent interview with Vulture, Brian Wilson explained what happened to their tracks. He said of Lana Del Rey that she cancelled on him.
There are a number of younger artists on No Pier Pressure, including She & Him, fun., and Sebu from Capital Cities, but Lana Del Rey and Frank Ocean were also supposed to contribute. What happened to their tracks?
Well, Frank Ocean didn’t want to do the song. He wanted to do rap, so we canceled him. Lana Del Rey, uh, she just canceled out on us.
On March 26, the famous website Ask Men shared the Top 99 of the Most Outstanding Women of 2015 and Lana Del Rey was chosen and occupies the 72nd position. Check the full list here.
Why is Lana Del Rey outstanding for Ask Men?
Lana Del Rey has earned critical acclaim for conjuring a signature melancholic, dream-like ’50s Americana aesthetic in both her music and personal image. In 2014, she topped a cornucopia of year-end lists with Ultraviolence, and this year, fans will again be under the Del Rey haze when she debuts Honeymoon, her fourth studio album. She’s come a long way since that awkward 2012 SNL performance.
In interview to the Independent, I am hype and The Aquarian Weekly, singer Marina and The Diamonds spoke about Lana Del Rey and the possibility of making a collaboration with her.
“At the starting everyone was comparing me to Lana,” she told me at the time. “You will always be compared in that fashion when you are a girl. People zero in on the fashion, on stuff like ‘well, she’s a got a curl and Lana Del Rey has a curl…they must be the same thing’. I adore her, think she’s tremendously talented. However, I’m glad the comparison has gone away.”
Long time ago, we heard some rumors about the possibility of a collaboration with Britney Spears or Lana Del Rey…
« With Britney Spears? (laughs). That would be weird. Lana, I love Lana. »
And she loves you too, no?
« I think so. One thing is to love an artist and another thing is working with it. So it wouldn’t probably work, for example between me and Britney. But you never know, I love here so I will always be interested to do so. »And with Lana, would it be possible for you?
« I do not know, I mean I haven’t seen her for four years. It really depends on the song, if you stay with the person, there are many other factors you know… So we’ll see, you never know. Never say never. »
Friends of mine always talk about you and Lana Del Rey being sort of the dream lineup.
« (Laughs) You and half of the internet. That’s all that I see in my Twitter mentions (laughs). »
I wonder what it is, the both of you being strong females might be it, I suppose.
« (Laughs) I don’t know! I love her. I think we share a similar aesthetic in a way, my second album and her first one. I think we both obsessed over an icon, but yeah, I think she’s lovely. »
It’s that time of year again where Maxim have opened up the voting for their 2015 Hot 100 list. Lana Del Rey features on the list among some other well known celebrities such as Miley Cyrus, Beyoncé, Kim Kardashian and Jennifer Lawrence.

The Inquisitr have brought up the interesting topic of what Lana Del Rey is set to do next. She has announced the ‘Endless Summer’ tour for North America (only) and revealed the name of her upcoming album, ‘Honeymoon‘, and says she’s recording music for it.
However, Lana has remained quiet on social media, especially regarding her next actions. The Endless Summer tour starts on May 7th in Texas, but international fans are keen to know whether Lana will be doing a world tour after the North America tour comes to a close on June 16th in Florida.
What is known of Lana Del Rey’s plans is that Honeymoon will be dropping August 2015. But will she reward fans with a word tour?

Lana Del Rey planted the seed by calling the tour “Endless Summer” — and unfortunately, the time gap of 13 weeks between the end of summer and the end of her American tour gives fans something to speculate about. After all, is this supposed to be an “endless summer” or what? Summer doesn’t end until September 22.
Naturally, fans overseas want Lana Del Rey to use those 13 weeks wisely — namely, to come visit them. On Lana Del Rey’s website, there are multiple comments from people in Australia, Brazil, France, Russia, Spain, England, Israel, Portugal, Mexico, and Germany that all want to know if she will be performing there soon.
