Lana Del Rey posted a video to her Instagram account revealing that she will be deactivating her social media accounts tomorrow. She said this is because she has “so many other interests and other jobs I’m doing that require privacy and transparency.”

Lana thanked her fans for all of our support and hopes we will like her new album, ‘Blue Banisters’. She said her new record is a complication of older and newer songs some written by family, friends, and old collaborators. “There will always be more to come.”

She added that she will always still be very present and is of course working on more records, her spoken word album, and her poetry books. “I’m still very present and love what I do and I’m absolutely here for the music.”

“Thank you for seeing me through the music. It’s always important to be witnessed.” Lana said she’s going to keep her circle a little closer and develop some other skill and interests.

“I’m always here making lots of records and in the meantime living life. I’ve really enjoyed sharing all these very small titbits with you and I’m really blessed so thank you. Signing off…”

It’s unclear whether this decision is permanent or temporary. Watch Lana’s full video below:

Lana Del Rey‘s new song ‘Arcadia’ is out now to buy and stream, alongside an accompanying music video. ‘Blue Banisters’ is available to pre-order now and will be released on October 22. There are some limited editions available.

Tracks 6, 12 and 14 were co-written by Barrie-James O’Neill, whom Lana used to be engaged to. She wrote the last track with her sister, Chuck, and father, Robert. Songs thought to have been scrapped from the album are ‘Fine China,’ I Can Fly,’ ‘Rock Candy Sweet/Loved You Then and Now,’ and ‘Wild One.’

Lana Del Rey announced on Instagram that she will release another single, titled, ‘Arcadia,’ from her upcoming album ‘Blue Banisters’ on September 8. She uploaded a snippet and said to listen if you liked ‘Video Games.’

Lana also added some commentary about reflecting on her life due to ongoing criticism. She said, “I guess you could say this album is about what it was like, what happened, and what it’s like now,” which alludes the album being a journey. “If you’re interested go back and listen to the first three songs I put out earlier,” she added, referring to ‘Blue Banisters,’ ‘Text Book,’ and ‘Wildflower Wildfire.’ She said these chronicle the beginning, and ‘Arcadia’ will hit somewhere in the middle, and “by the time the record drops you will hear where we’re at today.”

Lana also thanked her friends over the last 18 years, who have “been an example of attraction not promotion.” She added, “I’ve never felt the need to promote myself or tell my story, but if you’re interested this album does tell it—and does pretty much nothing more.”

Lana Del Rey features on ‘Secret Life’ by Bleachers, the name singer and record producer Jack Antonoff performs music under. The song is from his new album, ‘Take the Sadness Out of Saturday Night,’ which was released on July 30. Lana also contributed to writing the song ‘Don’t Go Dark.’

On May 20, Lana Del Rey released three singles. ‘Blue Banisters’ is available on Spotify and other platforms, but the other two – ‘Text Book’ and ‘Wildflower Wildfire’ – are only available on Lana’s YouTube account at the time of writing.
